Role details
Drive tens of millions in AI governance grantmaking to address catastrophic risk and power concentration through strategic evaluation and new initiative development.
- Evaluate grant proposals, write donor recommendations, and develop new large-scale AI governance projects through RFPs and incubation.
- Build networks of experts and grantees; identify neglected areas; create projects via seed funding, founder searches, and strategic partnerships.
- Manage grantee relationships, advise on productive directions, and communicate impact theory to donors primarily through writing.
- Requires deep expertise in AI governance, policymaking, power concentration, or catastrophic risk with strong field networks.
- Requires experience making high-stakes strategic decisions under time pressure and managing budgets of $500,000 or more.
