Job Description:
The Sales Engineer will be based in Queensland. In this position, you will be reporting to Director - Foundation Solutions. This role is a hybrid technical-commercial position responsible for turning foundation products into market-ready, data-backed, customer-ready solutions while enabling accurate pricing, proposals, and competitive positioning in a fast-growing startup business unit. More generally the Sales Engineer acts as the technical-commercial bridge between product development, supply chain, and sales. The role supports the launch and growth of Foundation Solutions (including Earth Truss) in Australia by:
· Supporting product and service development
· Enabling the sales team with technical tools and cost models
· Leading technical customer engagement
· Ensuring accurate pricing, proposals, and product positioning.
This role is critical in a startup-style, rapid growth environment where collaboration and cross-functional coordination are essential
Responsibilities
Product and Service Development
· Be the reference point for product development by working with Product Managers, Supply Chain and Sales Operations.
· Be the reference point for service development by working with BU Directors and other senior Managers
· Develop go to market and productization plans in cooperation with senior managers and facilitate regular PJE and Sales briefings
· Identify key metrics to measure success of new offerings
· Assist in planning new international market entries
· Work in Confluence to provide "single source of truth" on product and service development.
Supply Chain
· Work with supply chain on local content options
· Assist program manager answer PJE and Ops enquiries on product validation, procurement and certification
Sales Engineering
Assist in Co-ordinating and executing customer trials and demonstrations
Build and maintain a detailed product comparison tool to enable customers to analyze product benefits across all foundation solutions products inclusive of:
Analysis of installation times (based on actual time studies)
Material costs across tracker and foundations
Installation costs inc. direct and indirect costs
Product suitability guidance
Present above comparison tool with customers and manage technical enquiries related to the data within the tool
Work with sales ops to improve, manage and maintain pricing estimator to meet AU market offer
Incorporate new product offerings into pricing estimator as part of development cycle
Generate foundations proposals and lead integration with tracker proposals to ensure accurate costing and BOM development
Maintain technical sales documentation and manage enquiries.
Care of Nextpower property
All assets are accounted for, maintained and in good working order at all times.
Minimize risk of property damage, loss and mistreatment of assets under your teams care.
Other duties
Positively contribute to Nextpower through participation, sharing ideas and previous experiences.
Perform any other duties as required.
Experience, Qualities and Qualifications - Essential
Essential
Graduate Diploma in Construction (or related field)
3+ years experience as a Business Analyst.
3+ years experience as a project or program manager.
Leadership skills with the ability to communicate at multiple levels
Proven ability to develop and manage relationships
Able to communicate effectively with a broad range of audiences
Proven data analysis skillset
Preferred
Quantity Surveying or Construction costing skills
Sales experience
Hands on construction experience.
