Lime is hiring a Senior Payroll Accountant to join our Finance team! In this role, you will report directly to the Payroll Manager and you’ll oversee the end-to-end payroll accounting processes for assigned regions. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting Lime's rapid growth and development across multiple regions.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As a self-starter, you excel at working independently, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to navigate ambiguity. You are eager to take ownership of initiatives, from ideation through execution, ensuring smooth operations and alignment with organizational goals.

This is a remote position with a requirement for candidates to reside in Penang to maintain effective collaboration across teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analyses.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and support balance sheet reconciliations for payroll-related accounts, including assisting with reconciliation inquiries.

  • Coordinate with designated internal stakeholders to support payroll-related payment activities.

  • Process and reconcile payroll-related invoices and coordinate with appropriate stakeholders as needed.

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly cash forecasting reports and other payroll-related reports to support management reporting and statutory requirements.

  • Support payroll operations by maintaining and validating payroll pay code mappings to general ledger accounts.

  • Assist with payroll and statutory audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.

  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses as requested.

  • Assist in preparing monthly payroll metrics and reporting.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting and/or Business Administration

  • 3-6 years relevant experience and a demonstrated understanding of accounting and finance principles

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Proficiency with multi-country payroll systems (e.g. CloudPay / ADP) & ERP accounting systems (e.g. Netsuite).

  • Experience completing payroll audits and preparing documentation for internal/external auditors.

Preferred Experience:

  • Relentlessly result-driven without taking shortcuts: integrity above everything

  • Energetic team player with the ability to build good working relationships

  • Basic knowledge of US GAAP, with the ability to apply accounting principles to payroll journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
