Research Manager, Supervised Program for Alignment Research

• Support mentors and mentees in SPAR, an AI safety research fellowship, through regular check-ins, project scoping, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct 1:1 chats with mentees and address their questions via Slack and email.
• Plan and deliver monthly events for mentors and mentees, including workshops and speaker sessions.
• Co-run Demo Day and contribute to key program decisions on recruiting, matching, and feedback systems.

This role directly supports the development of AI safety researchers, helping to build a community focused on reducing risks from advanced AI systems.

• Experience managing or coordinating programs, preferably in research or education settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for mentoring and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to organize events and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with AI safety or technical research is a plus.
