Request For Proposal: Global Programs Connect Consultancy

Core responsibilities for this consultancy:

• Design and deliver recommendations to inform the evolution of the Connect stream, which aims to unite diverse actors and fund strategies for feminist movement strengthening
• Conduct research on cross-movement collaboration, including desk research and interviews, to gather lessons from intentional collective efforts
• Develop a typology of collective efforts (networks, coalitions, consortia) and analyze characteristics, strengths, and challenges of different structures
• Create case studies of funder strategies supporting collective action and provide recommendations for how to evolve the Connect stream over the next 5 years

This consultancy will help strengthen feminist movements by designing strategies to unite diverse actors, incentivize connections, and fund collective action approaches, ultimately advancing gender equality and human rights through more effective cross-movement collaboration.

Required skills and experience:

• Extensive knowledge about different types of collective efforts and cross-movement collaboration acquired through specific research or as a grantmaking practitioner
• Broad knowledge and experience with feminist organizations and movements, preferably in one or more regions where the Equality Fund works (Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Balkans, Central Asia)
• Strong research, interview, focus group, and writing skills with expertise in feminist modalities for information gathering
• Highly organized, analytical, adaptive and responsive to feedback with strong facilitation skills

Budget of no more than $70,000 CAD for a 2-3 month consultancy. The Equality Fund implements gender-responsive procurement practices and seeks mission-aligned suppliers who advance gender equality through their internal policies and external practices.
