Role: Executive & Operations Manager for LGBTQ+ Nonprofit Organization: The Curve Foundation Reports to: Executive Director (Co-Founder) Location: Fully Remote, except for in-person events during Lesbian Visibility Week Status: Part-Time (20 hrs/week, + full-time during LVW) Compensation: $30 - $40/hr, commensurate with experience. Summary The Curve Foundation, a national nonprofit championing lesbians and queer women’s culture and history, is seeking an exceedingly well-organized part-time Executive & Operations Manager. The Executive & Operations Manager is the Co-Founder's right hand and serves as the operational hub of the organization, partnering closely with the Co-Founder to keep priorities moving, manage projects and programs, support day-to-day operations, and help turn ideas into action. This role works across every aspect of the organization, ensuring the smooth execution of priorities, projects, programs, and day-to-day operations while supporting the Foundation's continued growth and impact. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who takes initiative to move projects forward, achieve goals, and is passionate about organization, planning, and communication. The Executive & Operations Manager must have a keen eye for detail, be reliable, and be flexible around changing priorities. In addition to Lesbian Visibility Week and the Curve Power List, The Curve Foundation’s programming includes: the Curve Fellowship for Emerging Journalists, created to support career development and raise the visibility of LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary people; and Curve Conversations, intersectional and multi-generational speaker events that provide context and a throughline between critical conversations forming our movement from the 1990s to today. Primary Responsibilities Executive Support Proactively check in each morning to confirm meetings and review the Co-Founder’s agenda & to-do list. Serve as the primary strategic and administrative partner to the Co-Founder. Manage and prioritize the Co-Founder’s calendar, meetings, and commitments alongside the Executive Assistant. Track priorities and ensure important deadlines are met. Review, prioritize, and manage email correspondence. Draft, edit, and proofread emails, presentations, reports, and other communications. Coordinate contracts, invoices, and administrative paperwork. Schedule and attend meetings with team, partners, and community organizations on behalf of the Foundation. Prepare meeting agendas, briefing materials, talking points, and follow-up action items. Help plan, brief, and prepare the Co-Founder for meetings, appearances, and teleconferences. Track priorities and ensure important deadlines are met. Help “hold all of the details,” to ensure the Foundation is always on top of what needs to get done and by when. Act as a trusted sounding board and thought partner on organizational initiatives. Operations & Project Management Coordinate and manage projects from concept through completion. Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and task management systems. Ensure cross-functional coordination among staff, contractors, volunteers, and partners. Monitor progress on organizational priorities and proactively identify potential roadblocks. Program support, including potential in-person attendance for larger events Review grant proposals and draft funding outreach Manage and organize projects related to funding, programs, and duties to help maximize the organization’s efficiency, productivity, and performance. Partake in team and organizational decision-making to lead the Foundation forward Improve and document organizational systems and operational processes. Maintain organizational calendars, internal documents, shared drives, databases, and operational systems. Help ensure organizational information remains organized and accessible. Take ownership of special projects as assigned. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and organizational effectiveness. Step into new responsibilities as organizational needs evolve. Support the Foundation wherever needed in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. Program & Event Support Help coordinate Foundation programs and initiatives, including: Lesbian Visibility Week The Curve Fellowship for Emerging Journalists Community programming Fundraising events Other organizational initiatives Coordinate logistics, timelines, materials, and communications. Support event planning, registration, vendor coordination, and follow-up. Assist with program evaluation and reporting. Partnerships & External Relations Help manage relationships with sponsors, donors, community partners, and vendors. Coordinate meetings and follow-up communications. Assist with sponsorship fulfillment and partnership deliverables. Support outreach and relationship management as assigned. Qualifications Required 3+ years of experience in operations, executive support, project management, nonprofit management, or a related field. Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including writing, proofreading, and editing. Excellent project management abilities with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential information. Highly self-directed with excellent follow-through and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Google Workspace and common productivity tools. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team. Preferred Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) Experience working in a nonprofit organization. Experience supporting senior executives or founders. Experience managing events or community programs. Familiarity with fundraising, sponsorships, or donor relations. Passion about LGBTQ+ communities and social impact work. Available to work fully remotely for 4-5 hours a day, usually from 9am to 1pm Pacific Time. Lived experience in the queer community is a plus.
