How to Apply for R2R Associate

at Environmental Resources Management

๐Ÿข About Environmental Resources Management

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is a global leader in sustainability consulting, helping organizations transition to low-carbon futures and advance ESG priorities. Working here means contributing to meaningful environmental impact while leveraging your accounting expertise in a purpose-driven firm.

About This Role

As an R2R Associate, you'll own the end-to-end accounting cycle for a global consultancy, from month-end close to intercompany reconciliations. Your work ensures accurate financial reporting that supports strategic decisions and audit readiness, directly enabling ERM's mission.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

You'll start by reviewing overnight intercompany transactions and reconciling them across entities. Mid-morning, you'll prepare journal entries for accruals and provisions, then analyze variance reports for management. After lunch, you might collaborate with the audit team on documentation or test a new ERP module for process improvements.

๐ŸŽฏ Who Environmental Resources Management Is Looking For

  • Experienced in R2R/GL accounting with 6-8 years of hands-on work, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Deep knowledge of IFRS or GAAP, with the ability to apply these principles to complex transactions like intercompany and provisions.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros) to analyze variances and streamline processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying process improvements and supporting audits.

๐Ÿ“ Tips for Applying to Environmental Resources Management

1

Tailor your resume to highlight R2R-specific achievements, such as 'Reduced month-end close by 2 days through process automation' or 'Managed intercompany reconciliations for 10+ entities.'

2

Mention any experience with sustainability reporting or ESG metrics, as ERM values candidates who align with their mission.

3

Quantify your impact: use numbers to show the scale of accounts managed, volume of transactions, or efficiency gains.

4

If you have ERP implementation or system upgrade experience, emphasize itโ€”ERM runs system enhancement projects.

5

Research ERM's recent sustainability reports or client case studies to weave into your cover letter or interview answers.

โœ‰๏ธ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter
