Project Engineering Manager

• Lead and mentor Project Engineers while serving as a hands-on technical contributor across multiple BESS projects, managing relationships with Owner's Engineers, Engineers of Record, and Independent Engineers.
• Provide direct technical guidance by reviewing designs, proposals, and engineering documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations and alignment with project scope, constructability, and schedule.
• Drive engineering execution by participating in project meetings, validating basis of design, and resolving technical issues in partnership with project managers, construction managers, and development engineering.
• Manage commissioning activities by coordinating engineering deliverables, resolving technical issues during energization and testing, and ensuring BESS system meets performance, safety, and ISO/RTO compliance requirements.

This role directly contributes to the transition of the nation's electric grid to a cleaner and more reliable future by leading the engineering of utility-scale battery energy storage projects that integrate renewable energy and provide essential grid services.

• 3-5+ years of experience in power delivery, substations, transmission, interconnection, and renewable energy, including 2+ years in energy storage.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program required; Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of industry standards and codes including IBC, NFPA 855, CEC, CFC, IEEE, NEMA, NEC, OSHA, and UL.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, Microsoft Project, and Smartsheets; superior communication and presentation skills.

Salary range: $170,000 - $212,500 (base plus 25% bonus target). Benefits include 401(k) with 6% match, monthly cell phone stipend, medical/dental/vision, 20 vacation days, 5 sick days, and 9 observed holidays. Remote within continental US with up to 20% travel.
