Principal GIS Specialist

• Design and implement robust spatial data models, analytics pipelines, and application patterns using ArcGIS Enterprise/Online, Experience Builder, dashboards, Survey123, and Field Maps.
• Drive automation and quality using Python/ArcPy, FME, ModelBuilder, and Arcade; steward enterprise geodatabases and perform technical reviews.
• Integrate GIS with engineering and environmental workflows, CAD/BIM, databases (SQL), APIs, and digital data capture; act as GIS/Data Lead on complex programs.
• Serve as technical point of contact for clients, shape solutions and cost estimates, and support business growth through client workshops and publications.

This role enables AECOM to deliver advanced geospatial solutions for critical environmental programs, supporting sustainable infrastructure and energy projects that reduce carbon emissions and protect ecosystems.

• Hands-on technical lead with deep expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise/Online, Python/ArcPy, FME, and geodatabase management.
• Experience supporting UK-based environmental programs (linear infrastructure, offshore/onshore wind, solar, carbon capture & storage, master planning, permitting & Environmental Impact Assessments).
• Strong skills in automation, quality assurance, and integration with CAD/BIM and SQL databases.
• Proven ability to mentor team members, manage projects, and engage clients in the environment sector.
