Staff Software Engineer

• Co-design test automation infrastructure with Systems and Test Infrastructure teams.
• Diagnose automated test failures across firmware, hardware, and test infrastructure.
• Manage and grow a fleet of 50+ hardware test rigs across offices.
• Monitor hardware and software infrastructure health.

This role directly supports SPAN's mission to electrify the built environment and reduce carbon emissions by ensuring the quality and reliability of products that enable clean energy homes and a flexible electrical grid.

• Demonstrable proficiency building reliable tools and services in Python.
• Experience with hardware-adjacent software (controlling, monitoring, or ingesting data from physical devices).
• Experience owning internal platform infrastructure where users are other engineers.
• Experience operating CI/CD infrastructure, particularly pipelines on physical hardware.
