Power Systems Engineer – Distribution Planning & Modeling III

• Perform distribution planning studies across multiple software platforms, applying planning criteria and conducting mitigation and alternatives analyses.
• Evaluate impacts of load growth and distributed energy resource (DER) interconnections, recommend cost-effective mitigation measures, and identify feasible alternatives.
• Develop and maintain data-driven solutions for distribution system analysis, including data processing pipelines, analytical and simulation models, and visualization or decision-support tools.
• Design and implement analytical tools, scripts, and workflows (Python- and/or SQL-based) to improve efficiency, automation, and reproducibility of studies.

This role directly supports the transition to a modern, resilient grid by enabling informed decisions on renewable energy integration, load growth, and advanced distribution technologies, ultimately contributing to a sustainable energy future.

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred) with 4+ years of experience in distribution utilities/power systems.
• Strong technical skills in utility distribution systems and experience with distribution modeling software (CYME, Synergi Electric, openDSS, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python and/or SQL for automation and data analysis, including statistical analysis and basic machine learning.
• Experience with distribution system data analysis (SCADA, DER, EV, AMI data) and handling large datasets.
