We believe acquiring and growing an existing small business is one of the most powerful ways to build generational wealth. NMC connects trained acquisition entrepreneurs with retiring small business owners. More than 1,000 entrepreneurs are active in our network, including 400+ alumni of our intensive bETA training program. We are also growing our Succession Ready program, which is a 5-week program that helps established business owners plan for succession. The Role The Partnerships & Recruitment Manager is a part-time employee position focused on driving outreach and recruitment for Succession Ready Chicago (launching March 27, 2027) and supporting the program team's early outreach for bETA Chicago (launching Fall 2027) from now until February 2027. This role reports directly to the Director of Programs and also works closely with the NMC Programs team. This is a part-time role during a defined period of time, measured on results: active referral partnerships, info session registrations, and completed applications. This role manages the Succession Ready Chicago application process through the February 28, 2027 deadline. We are prioritizing candidates with strong connections to the Chicago area to support recruitment for our Chicago-based programs. Key Responsibilities Develop referral partnerships Build referral partnerships with organizations whose networks include established owners ($1M+ revenue, 5+ employees): bankers, wealth advisors, CPAs, attorneys, business brokers, industry and manufacturer associations, financial advisors, and CDFIs. Secure concrete commitments from each partner, such as co-hosting an info session, sharing a newsletter, social post, or member email, or providing direct referrals. Structure partnerships that offer value to both sides, such as co-branded sessions and cross-referrals to partner services. Bring any paid membership or sponsorship request to NMC for approval. Maintain a consistent follow-up cadence that moves partner conversations to commitments. Support current NMC referral channels; follow up with owners referred by partners and log referral sources Produce sign-ups Drive registrations for the Succession Ready Chicago info sessions (November 17, December 15, January 26) through partners, local media calendars, and direct outreach. Source owner lists from business directories and partner networks, and run direct email and phone outreach to qualified owners. Make first-touch calls to interested owners to answer basic questions and move them to apply. Re-engage info session registrants and attendees who have not yet applied. Help fill the in-person January mixer (date TBD) with owners and ecosystem partners. Share Chicago partners and community channels with the Programs team and make introductions to support bETA searcher recruitment. Attend local events as an NMC representative. Manage the application process (through February 2027) Manage the Succession Ready Chicago recruitment timeline and your tasks in NMC Asana, flagging risks early. Track incoming applications, including Wells Fargo referral sources, and report weekly on numbers against targets. Route applications to the team on a weekly review cadence and follow up so every application is reviewed. Answer applicant questions and move interested owners to a complete application. Deliver complete applications from eligible owners to the Succession Ready Program Manager for review and decisions. Existing Programs team members will handle application decisions, acceptance and regret emails, Canvas setup, fellow onboarding, faculty coordination, cohort launch, and sponsor relationships. Performance Metrics and Evaluation The Partnerships & Recruitment Manager is responsible for a minimum of 50 registrants total across the three information sessions by January 26th, including 40 eligible business owners, and a minimum of 40 qualified Succession Ready applications by February 28. Throughout our time together, we'll track outreach, calls, commitments, and applications, compared to the targets set below. We expect daily tracking of outreach activity and will have a channel review every 2 weeks to review progress and what to refocus. First 2 weeks: Build a partnership tracker with 20 priority organizations, send the first outreach wave, and launch promotion for Info Session 1 By December 15: Secure 2 active partners, including at least 1 co-host for Info Session 2; drive 15 Info Session 2 registrations and 10 submitted applications By January 26: Grow to 5 active partners; drive 20 Info Session 3 registrations, 50 mixer RSVPs, and 20 submitted applications By February 28: Keep partners referring through the application deadline End goal: Deliver 40 qualified applications, all reviewed by the team, to select a cohort of 30–35 *Note: An active partner is one that has co-hosted, promoted, or referred owners. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, and you are a proactive self-starter who moves work forward without waiting for direction. You are innovative and data-driven: you track results, spot what is and isn't working, and pivot your approach based on numbers. You are organized; you keep a tracker current and follow up without reminders. The Director of Programs confirms each milestone, and each bonus is paid within 30 days of confirmation. Travel: A reasonable travel reimbursement will be approved for industry events, community gatherings, and meetings with prospective business sellers. Travel is pre-approved and reimbursed in accordance with NMC's expense policy. Required meetings: Weekly 1:1s with the Director of Programs, Program team meetings, partnership calls, and coordination with NMC operations as needed. Location: Remote, with in-person activity concentrated in the Chicago area. Term: As soon as possible through the February 28, 2027 application deadline, plus one week to hand off and document learnings. This is a fixed-term, at-will position. NMC may offer an extension to support bETA Chicago recruitment based on the program funding and needs. Important Note: This role is highly relationship-driven and involves a significant number of meetings with partners, business owners, and the NMC team. It is best suited for a self-starter with established relationships in Chicago and a proven ability to build new ones. As NMC expands into a new market, this role requires dedication, initiative, and the flexibility to adjust strategy and approach based on results. Clear, proactive communication with the NMC team is essential. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. New Majority Capital (NMC) is committed to providing a workplace free from discrimination or harassment. We provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified candidates and employees and encourage all interested candidates to apply.
