Position: Operations Associate Location: Remote Reports To: Program Manager Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Start Date: December 2026 Salary: $54,000 This position is being funded by a project grant that ends July 2029. The role may not continue after July 2029 if additional funds are not raised. Position Summary The Operations Associate is a key member of the team responsible for leading the execution and day-to-day operations of the Immigration Legal Fellowship Program while supporting broader organizational and grantmaking workflows. This role blends programmatic support, operational excellence, administrative coordination, and stakeholder outreach to advance ChangeLawyers' mission and strengthen community engagement The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with an interest in nonprofit programs, operations, and legal community engagement. Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities Immigration Legal Fellowship Program (75%) Coordinate Immigration Legal Fellowship Program including process for hiring fellows, capacity building and professional development initiatives, and creating and implementing monthly training calendar Participate in all fellowship related meetings with other coordinating organizations, funders, and other stakeholders Ensure successful implementation of all fellowship convenings Operations Support (15%) Support the Program Manager across core programs and initiatives, including the Next Gen Scholars Program, Legal Empowerment Fund, and Legal Aid Grants by providing programmatic, operational and administrative support, including: Assisting with grantmaking processes such as preparing grant agreements and tracking deliverables, distribution, and documentation Providing general administrative support for all programs and grants and assisting with maintaining accurate program records and internal systems as needed Organizational Support (10%) Deliver comprehensive scheduling and administrative support across the organization, facilitating effective coordination of meetings, calendars, and operational activities As needed and as capacity allows, support general office management and administrative needs, including but not limited to: Maintain organizational systems and accounts (digital and physical) Assist with operational workflows to ensure efficiency across teams like managing team scheduling Serve as company culture holder coordinating events like lunch & learns and team gatherings and supporting team culture initiatives Manage incoming mail, including sorting, responding, and depositing checks Supporting organization outreach efforts, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management as needed Required Qualifications 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit program operations, administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) and strong interest in philanthropy, nonprofit, and/or legal programs Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and is self-starter with the ability to anticipate needs and solve problems proactively Comfortable working in a small, dynamic, completely remote team environment Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset Familiarity with Google Workspace, Zoom, and experience with CRM or grant database platforms is preferred Experience with social media and professional platforms (e.g., LinkedIn) is a plus Work Environment & Physical Demands Location: Remote (open to candidates throughout and only in California). Periodic travel may be required for organization retreats and events (approximately 3-5x a year). Reasonable accommodations will be provided to ensure accessibility.
