Online Membership Associate (Online Community Engagement)

• Curate and manage the Center's social media presence across major and emerging platforms, planning, scheduling, publishing, monitoring, and optimizing content to grow email and text lists, online membership, and donations.
• Engage directly with followers and commenters, manage comments, automated DM journeys, and tailored subscriber content to turn digital channels into stewardship platforms.
• Collaborate with Senior Online Membership Associates to develop platform-specific editorial calendars and campaign plans, packaging organizational priorities into engaging social content.
• Monitor platform trends, analyze performance metrics, and use data to improve content strategy and audience engagement.

This role directly supports the Center for Biological Diversity's mission to protect endangered species and wild places by growing its online community, engaging supporters, and converting them into donors and advocates, thereby amplifying the organization's conservation impact.

• 3-5 years of experience managing social media channels, digital editorial content, audience engagement, digital communications, journalism, advocacy communications, or a related field.
• Excellent writing, editing, headline writing, and editorial judgment; ability to translate complex issues into clear, compelling digital content.
• Deep understanding of major social media platforms and their distinct audiences, formats, and best practices; experience with social media management tools like Sprout Social.
• Strong project management skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for biodiversity and conservation.

Salary range: $57,000 - $65,000.
