Role: Part-Time Membership Operations Contractor Reporting: Operations Director Location: Fully remote Contract Structure: 1099 Independent Contractor Timeline: Agreed Start Date through February 26, 2027 with potential to extend. Proposed Fee Structure: $40 - $50 per hour, commensurate w/relevant experience for up to 15 hours/wk Potential for an equivalent fixed monthly fee structure with the selected contractor. The College-in-3 Exchange leads a collaborative of U.S. universities, colleges, systems, and other stakeholders who are committed to moving 3-year undergraduate degrees into the mainstream of higher education. We are establishing 3-year degrees as an affordable, accessible, and credible pathway to higher education in the U.S. We are the center of research, advocacy, and resource tools to support and promote institutions on their independent pathway to offering 3-year degrees. Since its formal inception in 2024, the College-in-3 Exchange (Cin3) has focused its work on expanding its community of practice with institutional members, serving as a knowledge hub for institutions that support 3-year degree programs, and research programs around 3-year degrees. Cin3 is looking for a highly organized, collaborative, detail-oriented consultant / contractor to serve in a Membership Operations role, who will actively engage with and track progress of a growing national network of higher education institutions. This role is ideal for someone with experience in membership organizations, data collection and records management, with an interest in higher education in the U.S.. The successful candidate is adept at managing multiple moving pieces and ensuring key work is accurate, organized, and on track. SCOPE OF WORK The role requires consistent support of the pipelining, tracking, and management of Collegein-3 prospective and active members. Key to the success of this engagement is maintaining accurate, up-to-date member records and ensuring timely follow-up between Cin3 staff and members so that College-in-3 can effectively support Cin3 members' needs and promote their progress. Prospective Members: Actively monitor and track membership pipeline information, establishing and managing a system to follow up with prospective members, working with Cin3 staff to convert prospects to new members. Create records of known 3-year degree programs of prospective members, which will inform their type of engagement as members of College-in-3. New Member Welcome & Orientation: Actively manage the process of new member intake; integrating new members into existing activities. Ensure accurate records management in appropriate repositories. Existing Members: Work closely with Cin3 staff to ensure members receive materials, event invitations, and other notices in a timely manner. Actively follow up with members to maintain up to date records of their 3-year degree program development. Maintain accurate records of member Contacts, changes in contacts, and progress of their 3-year degree program development. KEY OUTCOMES -Alongside core work, commitment to 1 planning meeting per week (approximately 60 minutes per week), plus four Members’ Connect virtual meetings, held once per month for one-hour from October 2026 through February 2027. -Maintain an organized central repository of records for a growing membership. -Establish a system and process to actively maintain engagement with members around the progress of their 3-year degree programs. -Self-Manage meeting invitations, requests and reminders, and communications, aligned with the annual cadence of member meetings and commitments. -Routinely and accurately track organizational deadlines and open items with the Cin3 staff. OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE -Strong organizational, coordination, and project management skills. -Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail while moving work forward at a pace. -Experience working in membership organizations, associations, research projects, or similar nonprofit networks. -Experience coordinating projects involving multiple contributors, organizations, or institutional partners. -Exceptional data management and record keeping skills. -Familiarity with U.S. higher education desirable. -Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. -Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow multiple activities and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy. -Some experience working with nonprofits transitioning and growing with start-up dynamics. -Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS365) and SharePoint required. -Experience with CRM or prospect-tracking systems and/or relationship databases is an advantage. Compensation, terms, performance metrics, and other conditions of engagement will be mutually agreed in advance. Contractors should propose terms pending their availability and fee structure to complete the scope of work as presented. This engagement is funded by a grant which will conclude in February 2027. The successful candidate will receive a one-month paid introductory period with performance metrics as part of the contracted time-period. Subject to funding, organizational need, and performance, there may be an opportunity to extend this contract. We regret that we cannot support visa requirements.
