Legal Fellowship

Core responsibilities of a legal fellow include:

• Researching and writing about areas of international law and policy
• Assisting with policy analysis and advocacy
• Attending meetings and conferences
• Assisting with the production of CIEL publications
• Working closely with CIEL staff on various projects

This fellowship provides recent law school graduates with experience in the field of international environmental law, working at the intersection of human rights and the environment to advance everyone's right to a healthy environment.

Required qualifications and skills:

• Recently completed or in final stages of completing a graduate degree in law (LLM, JD)
• Willing to make a commitment of at least three months
• Excellent research and writing skills
• Strong dedication to public interest law

Legal fellows must come with their own funding (often from a university, third party, or scholarship). No salary, compensation, or future position guarantee is provided. Fellows may work remotely (US or Switzerland) or in a hybrid manner from DC or Geneva offices.
