How to apply for Customer Success Manager (North America)
Goodstack
About Goodstack
Goodstack is an AI-native social impact startup backed by General Catalyst, the investors behind Stripe and Airbnb. We power global change by enabling companies like Google, OpenAI, and LinkedIn to integrate donations into their platforms, and we've facilitated $5 billion in donations in 2025 alone. Working here means being at the forefront of tech for good, with a mission to make doing good built into everything we do.
About the role
As a Customer Success Manager, you'll own post-launch relationships with enterprise customers, ensuring they adopt, scale, and renew their use of Goodstack's platform. Your work directly impacts the flow of billions in donations to nonprofits, making your role crucial for both customer satisfaction and the company's mission.
A typical day
A typical day might start by checking dashboards for account health metrics, then having check-in calls with enterprise clients to discuss adoption and gather feedback. You'll collaborate with product and support teams to resolve issues, and work on strategic account plans to identify expansion opportunities. Afternoons could involve preparing QBRs or conducting training sessions to ensure customers maximize the platform's value.

Tips for this application
- Tailor your resume to highlight specific achievements in customer success, such as renewal rates, expansion revenue, or CSAT improvements, with numbers.
- In your cover letter, mention your familiarity with Goodstack's clients (Google, OpenAI, etc.) and express genuine interest in their mission of democratizing giving.
- Research Goodstack's platform and recent news; mention specific features or partnerships you find exciting in your application.
- Since it's a remote role, emphasize your remote work experience and ability to manage your own schedule.
- Show that you understand the unique challenges of selling to both enterprises and nonprofits, perhaps by mentioning any experience with social impact initiatives.
What to cover in your cover letter
- Your alignment with Goodstack's mission and why social impact tech motivates you. - Specific examples of how you've successfully driven adoption and renewal in past roles, with metrics. - Your experience with enterprise-level customers and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. - Why you're excited about the AI-native aspect of Goodstack and how you can contribute to their growth.
Draft a cover letterResearch before applying
- Read Goodstack's website and blog to understand their product offerings, including their AI capabilities and impact measurement tools.
- Look up recent news about Goodstack, such as funding rounds, partnerships, or features in tech publications.
- Review the LinkedIn profiles of current Goodstack employees, especially in customer success, to understand the team culture.

Likely interview topics
Based on the job description, expect questions about:
- How would you approach a customer who is not fully utilizing the Goodstack platform?
- Describe a time you turned around an at-risk account. What steps did you take and what was the outcome?
- How do you prioritize your time when managing multiple enterprise accounts?
- What metrics do you consider most important for customer success, and how do you track them?
- How do you stay updated on trends in corporate social responsibility and nonprofit technology?
Common mistakes to avoid
- Don't submit a generic cover letter that doesn't mention Goodstack's mission or specific clients.
- Avoid focusing solely on technical skills if you lack customer success experience; instead, highlight transferable skills like relationship management.
- Don't underestimate the importance of the company's social impact mission; if you're not genuinely passionate about it, it will show.
