Head of Communications & Engagement

• Lead Convergent's communications function, focusing on building communications capabilities across the FRO portfolio (85% of time).
• Teach FRO teams media strategy, help scientific founders develop public voice, and prepare for press.
• Manage Convergent's internal and digital communications, coordinate with external agencies for brand storytelling and media (15% of time).

This role accelerates breakthrough scientific research by empowering Focused Research Organizations to effectively communicate their work, attracting funding and collaboration to remove bottlenecks in critical fields like neuroscience, climate, and biology.

• Proven experience in communications leadership, ideally in science, research, or non-profit sectors.
• Ability to coach and train others in media strategy and storytelling.
• Strong execution skills to manage owned channels and coordinate external vendors.
• Self-awareness to identify strengths and resourcefulness to fill gaps via consultants or tools.
