Job Title: Interdisciplinary AI Project Manager Job Status: Full-time, 18-month term (with projected extension), grant-funded position Reports to: Senior Manager of Standards Location: Fully Remote Salary Range: $80,000 – $85,000 annually The Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) is a membership organization that supports and promotes the teaching of computer science, providing opportunities for PK-12 teachers and their students to better understand computer science and to more successfully prepare themselves to teach and learn. CSTA is looking for an experienced Project Manager who will lead the implementation of the Cross Subject AI Collaborative (name TBD), a national effort to bring computer science and other disciplines together to define and teach AI literacy across PK–12 education . The Project Manager will coordinate convenings of national subject-area associations, manage the development of interdisciplinary instructional resources with CS and non-CS educators, guide dissemination and professional development aligned to these resources, and work with contractors and external reviewers to ensure all project deliverables are met, and advocate for adoption of the project's outputs across the education community. Project Description AI literacy can't be the responsibility of computer science alone. Students encounter AI in every subject, and each discipline has a distinct role in helping them understand, use, and critically evaluate it. The purpose of the Collaborative is to define that shared responsibility and give educators the tools to act on it. CSTA is convening national subject-area associations, including those representing mathematics, English language arts, science, world languages, and technology and engineering into a cross-subject collaborative. Through three convenings, the collaborative will produce an interdisciplinary AI Literacies Framework and a Division-of-Labor Map describing how responsibility for AI literacy is distributed across subject areas. Both will be publicly launched at the CSTA Annual Conference in July 2027. Alongside this work, the Collaborative brings CS and non-CS educators together in collaborative workshops to develop, classroom-test, and refine interdisciplinary instructional resources that integrate foundational AI concepts with subjects such as math, ELA, and social studies. The resources are aligned to the 2026 CSTA PK–12 Computer Science Standards and other disciplinary standards. Together, these efforts will shape how AI literacy is taught across disciplines in schools nationwide. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Framework Development (30%) Contribute to the planning and facilitation of three cross-disciplinary convenings to create an interdisciplinary AI literacy framework and division of labor map. Synthesize convening and project outcomes and recommendations and publish supporting materials in report(s) , in close collaboration with a contracted Report Writer, a contracted Designer, CSTA staff, and external reviewers. Interdisciplinary Resource Development (30%) Refine and manage processes to develop, publish, and disseminate interdisciplinary instructional resources aligned to the 2026 CSTA PK–12 Standards and other disciplinary standards (e.g., Next Generation Science Standards, Common Core State Standards for Mathematics/ELA). Recruit representatives for collaborative, interdisciplinary instructional resource development. Plan and facilitate interdisciplinary instructional resource development workshops. Facilitate the development of interdisciplinary professional learning opportunities. Project Management and Dissemination (40%) Manage the successful implementation of the Cross Subject AI Collaborative project. Success includes the development and publication of an interdisciplinary framework for AI education and division-of-labor map, and the development and publication of interdisciplinary lesson plans across several subject areas. Maintain the public-facing display of developed resources. Coordinate with external reviewers and other contractors to ensure needed feedback and timely delivery of project deliverables. Work closely with CSTA staff to create and manage reporting to sponsor(s) and other key audiences, including developing cross-subject case studies. Guide dissemination and professional development (PD) efforts aligned with the project's interdisciplinary resources and outputs. Present externally on the project across multiple audiences at regular intervals (6–12 times per year, domestically and virtually), and advocate for adoption of the framework, division of labor map, and interdisciplinary instructional resources.
