Illinois Outreach & Engagement Associate

• Implement and co-develop outreach strategies to build awareness and increase use of the Illinois Helplines for substance use and problem gambling.
• Build strategic relationships with service providers, coalition members, and community stakeholders, particularly in rural communities.
• Conduct presentations and represent the IL Helpline at community events and meetings.
• Contribute to the development of marketing content and promotional materials.

This role directly connects individuals in Illinois to critical substance use and problem gambling support services, advancing health equity and reducing harm in underserved communities.

• BS or BA with at least three years of relevant experience, or at least five years of experience in substance use disorders/gambling disorders and/or community engagement.
• Experience in community engagement, street outreach, and/or managing volunteer engagement.
• Strong commitment to health and racial equity.
• Lived experience with substance use disorder and/or problem gambling strongly preferred; two years of recovery preferred.

Competitive salaries, health insurance, retirement plan, flexible summer hours, vacation starting at 4 weeks, 13 paid holidays, and office closure at the end of December. Salary range: $54,000-$61,000.
