HPC User Support Engineer

• Provide technical support for ALCF’s high-performance computing (HPC) systems and services, ensuring a seamless user experience for researchers.
• Manage and resolve technical issues including debugging, installing, compiling, and running large-scale user applications.
• Develop and maintain user documentation, conduct training sessions, and onboard new users.
• Support AI technologies and assist users in deploying and optimizing AI workflows on HPC systems.

This role enables groundbreaking scientific research in energy, national security, and AI by providing critical technical support to researchers using world-class supercomputing resources.

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Hands-on experience with programming and scripting languages like Python, C/C++, FORTRAN, shell scripting.
• Considerable experience working on UNIX systems and working knowledge of HPC systems and concepts.
• Strong technical consulting and support skills with excellent oral and written communications.
