- Own the monitoring and data infrastructure strategy: cameras, sensors, bird-level tracking, and environmental telemetry integrated into one coherent system.
- Make build/buy/partner decisions across hardware and software; assess external technologies and render go/no-go judgments for trials.
- Build the data platform and standards ensuring clean, comparable, reusable results across welfare measurement experiments.
- Hire and lead the technical team; decide what to build in-house versus contract or partner for.
- Requires broad technical generalist expertise across AI/ML, computer vision, sensing, data infrastructure, and hardware; 0-to-1 builder experience essential.
