How to apply for Growth

Elicit

About Elicit

Elicit is a public benefit company building an AI research assistant for researchers. The product is a scalable ML system that prioritizes systematicity and transparency, with supervision of process rather than outcomes. This role is a chance to build enterprise marketing from zero at an early-stage company with a technical product.

About the role

This is the founding enterprise marketing hire. You will build demand generation and field marketing from the ground up, creating data-driven strategies, processes, and measurement frameworks. You will design and run multi-channel programs targeting enterprise accounts in research and life sciences, and partner closely with go-to-market leadership.

A typical day

You will spend time analyzing campaign and pipeline data to find opportunities, then building or adjusting programs across paid, email, and ABM channels. You will meet with sales to align on account priorities and revenue targets. You will also set up or refine measurement frameworks since you are establishing the function. Expect to move between analysis, execution, and cross-team coordination.

Who Elicit is looking for

  • 5–7 years of B2B marketing experience, with a strong focus on demand generation.
  • A strong quantitative foundation: comfortable analyzing data, identifying opportunities, and articulating the 'why' behind strategies with compelling metrics.
  • A builder's mindset: able to move quickly from insight to execution with significant autonomy.
  • Experience with multi-channel demand generation programs targeting enterprise accounts, including paid campaigns, email nurture, content syndication, and ABM.

Tips for this application

  • Show you can build from scratch. Describe a demand generation function or program you created, not just managed.
  • Include specific metrics from past campaigns: pipeline generated, conversion rates, cost per opportunity, or deal acceleration.
  • Name the channels and tactics you have run: paid, email nurture, content syndication, ABM. Be concrete about what you did and the results.
  • Explain how you have partnered with sales teams to translate segment priorities and revenue targets into marketing plans.
  • Mention any experience marketing to researchers, life sciences organizations, or technical/scientific audiences. If none, state how you would learn this audience.

What to cover in your cover letter

Focus on your experience building demand generation programs from the ground up. Give one or two examples with numbers that show pipeline impact. Explain how you use data to decide where to invest and how you measure success. Describe how you work with sales to align on targets and account needs. If you have marketed to research or life sciences audiences, say so directly.

  • Look up Elicit's public benefit company status and what that means for how they operate and measure success.
  • Study how Elicit describes its ML system: systematicity, transparency, and supervision of process rather than outcomes. Be ready to connect this to marketing messaging.
  • Find any public talks, blog posts, or interviews from Elicit's team about their go-to-market approach or enterprise strategy.
