As a mission-driven company, we are committed to providing equitable access to the climate funding ecosystem and building the next generation of leaders in climate finance.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Grants Project Manager, US at CFS, you’ll own federal and state grant applications end-to-end, leading writing teams and managing complex multi-stakeholder timelines, while serving as the strategic interface between CFS and our clients. • Coordinate writers and technical experts across proposal teams, balancing expertise with capacity to avoid burnout
• Oversee compliance with federal grant regulations (2 CFR 200) and budget and standard forms (SF424 family); manage submissions across federal platforms (SAM.gov, Grants.gov Workspace, DOE eXCHANGE) and relevant state platforms
• Serve as a strategic advisor to client teams on competitive positioning and partnership development, helping shape applications to maximize funding outcomes
• Coordinate cross-functionally between CFS team members and external partners to ensure smooth proposal development and submission

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent)
• Fluency in English
• Minimum of six years of grant project management or grant writing experience; at least three years as lead project manager on funded grant proposals
• Strong scientific or technical knowledge relevant to climate solutions
• Experience managing applications to climate-focused federal and state agencies, including, but not limited to, the US Department of Energy (DOE), US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Department of Defense/War (DOD/DOW), National Science Foundation (NSF), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Energy Commission (CEC), New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), and MassCEC
• Strong knowledge of federal grant compliance and regulations (2 CFR 200) and federal grant budgets and standard forms (SF424 family)
• Working knowledge of federal grant submission platforms, including SAM.gov, Grants.gov Workspace, and DOE eXCHANGE; state platform experience is a plus
• Proficiency in Asana, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other standard project management and collaborative platforms
• Strong oral and written communication skills for working cooperatively with internal teams, clients, and external partners
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment
• Equipment, technical ability, flexibility, and temperament required to work fully remotely with intercontinental teams and clients, including weekday availability to check and respond to project communications
• Mission-driven, with a clear understanding of the urgency of addressing the climate crisis

Preferred
• Graduate degree, particularly in a related field (business administration, public administration, or a scientific or technical field)
• Prior grant writing experience
• Knowledge of climate sectors, including renewable energy, carbon management, energy storage/batteries, industrial decarbonization, critical minerals and materials, hydrogen and other clean fuels, grid technologies, transportation, sustainable agriculture, advanced manufacturing, nuclear, and more
• Pre-award research administration certification (GPA, CGP, or CRA/CPRA)
