Job description
About EPIC EPIC (Empowering Projects for International Cooperation) is a nonprofit organization that partners with grassroots organizations in Latin America to support locally inspired and led projects that strengthen communities and create lasting, meaningful change. EPIC believes that communities themselves are best positioned to identify their priorities and develop solutions to the challenges they face. Our role is to listen, build relationships, provide support, and help connect our partners with the resources they need to advance their own goals. EPIC is seeking a part-time Grants Development Manager to help secure philanthropic support for our international program partners. This position offers an opportunity for an experienced nonprofit fundraising professional to play a central role in expanding EPIC's funding base and sustaining the work of grassroots organizations in Latin America. EPIC’s Operational Style All work begins with our partners. The Grants Development Manager will develop a strong understanding of the goals, priorities, and locally defined needs of EPIC's Latin American partners and then identify foundations and other philanthropic funders whose interests align with those priorities. EPIC does not reshape community-led programs simply to fit available funding. Instead, we seek funders whose priorities and values align with the work our partners have identified as important. The Grants Development Manager will therefore bring both strong nonprofit fundraising expertise and a commitment to community-led development. The Manager needs to have networking skills and existing contacts in order to build potential donor relationships that match EPIC’s needs. Proven experience and skills in cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors is essential. Working closely with EPIC’s staff and Latin American partners, the Manager will develop compelling proposals that accurately represent our partners' work, demonstrate meaningful outcomes, and communicate the importance and potential impact of philanthropic investment. The Manager will also provide engaging and thoughtful grant reports that demonstrate results, share impact stories, and help strengthen long-term relationships with funders. This is a part-time virtual position making it particularly well suited to an experienced nonprofit development professional who can work independently, prioritize, and make meaningful progress without requiring extensive day-to-day supervision. Core Responsibilities Foundation and Funder Research Research foundations, family trusts, donor-advised funds, and other philanthropic funding sources that align with EPIC's mission and local partner programs. Identify opportunities for new funding relationships and for renewed or expanded support from existing funders. Research program officers and other relevant contacts and identify appropriate opportunities for communication and engagement. Cultivate relationships with current and prospective funders. Engage with existing professional contacts and networks to build effective relationships, and engagement. Bring the ability to be both persistent and friendly in reaching out and getting the “foot in the door”. Grant Writing Work collaboratively with EPIC staff and program partners to develop strong letters of inquiry and competitive grant requests. Write clear, compelling grant proposals that meet funder requirements and interests, and also describe the impact to be achieved with their funding. Grant Reporting Prepare compelling grant reports that meet funder requirements and demonstrate the impact of their support for these programs. When appropriate send engaging project photos. Ensure that all reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time. Qualifications At least 3 years of professional experience in grant writing for international programs and foundation relations Demonstrated success researching and securing foundation or other philanthropic funding Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex programs and ideas clearly, persuasively, and authentically Experience working across cultures and with international program partners Fluency in written and spoken Spanish More information about EPIC and its work can be found at www.epicprojects.org.
