How to apply for FullStack / AI Engineer (m/w/d)
Ampeers Energy
About Ampeers Energy
Ampeers Energy builds intelligent, sustainable energy solutions for CO₂-free real estate. The company focuses on profitable climate neutrality, combining energy technology with software.
About the role
This is a fullstack and AI engineering role. You will build features from PostgreSQL to UI using Python, TypeScript/React, and GraphQL/REST. You will also shape how the team uses AI to build software, with Claude Code as the standard tool. You will work directly with the CTO on architecture and AI strategy.
A typical day
You might start by reviewing a feature request, then write Python services and TypeScript/React components, connecting them with GraphQL or REST. Later, you could work on AI tooling, such as refining a Claude Code skill or eval pipeline. You may also discuss architecture or AI strategy directly with the CTO.
Who Ampeers Energy is looking for
- 5+ years of fullstack experience at senior to principal level in production web applications or SaaS platforms.
- Expert in TypeScript, React, and Node.js, with familiarity in Python and PostgreSQL.
- Experienced in AI engineering: building skills, hooks, sub-agents, and eval pipelines with Claude Code or similar agent tools.
- Has ideally helped shape AI strategy for a team or company.
- Comfortable with large APIs, refactoring, and database schema migrations.
Tips for this application
- Highlight concrete examples of end-to-end feature delivery, from database to UI, using TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Python.
- Describe specific AI engineering work: custom skills, hooks, sub-agents, or eval setups you built with Claude Code or comparable tools.
- Mention any experience you have with AI strategy at a team or company level, even if informal.
- Show familiarity with GraphQL and REST APIs, and mention database schema migrations you have handled.
- Explain why you are interested in CO₂-free real estate and sustainable energy solutions, as this is the company's core focus.
What to cover in your cover letter
['Your fullstack delivery experience across Postgres, Python, TypeScript/React, and GraphQL/REST.', 'Your hands-on AI engineering work: building skills, hooks, sub-agents, and eval pipelines with Claude Code.', 'Any contribution you have made to AI strategy for a team or company.', "Your interest in the company's mission of CO₂-free real estate and profitable climate neutrality."]
Draft a cover letterResearch before applying
- Study Ampeers Energy's products and how they enable CO₂-free real estate and profitable climate neutrality.
- Understand the German real estate and energy market context, especially around sustainability regulations.
- Look into Claude Code and similar agent tools to speak concretely about skills, hooks, sub-agents, and eval pipelines.
- Check the company's tech stack if public, and prepare to discuss GraphQL, REST, Python, TypeScript, React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
Likely interview topics
Based on the job description, expect questions about:
- Walk through a fullstack feature you built end-to-end, including database, backend, and frontend decisions.
- How you have used Claude Code or similar agent tools to build custom skills, hooks, sub-agents, or eval pipelines.
- Your approach to platform architecture across frontend and backend, and how you handle refactoring or schema migrations.
- How you would shape AI strategy for a team, including tooling, workflows, and evaluation.
- Why you want to work on sustainable energy solutions for real estate and how you handle legacy decisions while introducing new patterns.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Claiming AI engineering experience without concrete examples of building skills, hooks, sub-agents, or eval pipelines.
- Focusing only on frontend or only on backend, since the role requires end-to-end fullstack delivery.
- Ignoring the company's mission in sustainable energy and treating it as a generic tech job.
