How to apply for Founding Events Lead

White Circle

About White Circle

White Circle builds a safety, reliability, and optimization layer for AI systems. It has raised $70M total, including a recent Series A, and processes over 100M API calls per month. Its customers include Lovable and multiple neobanks. The team is small and focused on hard problems in AI safety.

About the role

This is White Circle's first dedicated Events Lead. You will own event strategy and execution end to end: selecting conferences and owned events, building experiences, generating qualified pipeline, measuring ROI, and creating a flagship event from scratch. The goal is to turn events into a measurable global acquisition channel.

A typical day

A typical day might include reviewing conference options and sponsorship terms, meeting with sales to define target accounts for an upcoming event, and building a run-of-show or budget for a flagship event. You would also track pipeline from past events and adjust the event calendar based on what is producing qualified opportunities.

Who White Circle is looking for

  • Has run B2B events end to end, including choosing which conferences to attend or sponsor, managing logistics, and tracking pipeline and ROI.
  • Can build a flagship owned event from zero, including format, venue, budget, vendors, promotion, and post-event follow-up.
  • Is comfortable with data and can connect event spend to qualified pipeline, CAC, and revenue in a small team with no existing event playbook.
  • Can operate globally and remotely, work with sales and marketing, and make decisions without a large events team or agency.

Tips for this application

  • In your application, name specific conferences or event formats you would target for an AI safety company selling to technical buyers and neobanks, and explain why.
  • Show one example where you measured event ROI and changed strategy based on the numbers. Include the metric you used and the decision you made.
  • Describe a flagship event you built or would build from scratch. Include format, audience, budget range, and how you would drive qualified pipeline.
  • Reference White Circle's product directly: policies as natural-language rules for AI models, testing and enforcement at scale, and 100M+ API calls per month. Explain how events could reach buyers for that product.
  • Keep the application focused on pipeline and revenue, not brand awareness. This role is explicitly measured as an acquisition channel.

What to cover in your cover letter

['Your end-to-end ownership of events: strategy, selection, execution, pipeline, and ROI measurement.', 'A concrete example of a conference or owned event you ran that produced qualified pipeline, with numbers if possible.', "How you would build White Circle's flagship event from the ground up, including audience, format, and success metrics.", "Why AI safety and White Circle's stage (Series A, $70M total, small team, proven demand) fit your approach to events."]

Likely interview topics

Based on the job description, expect questions about:

  • How you choose which conferences to attend or sponsor when the target buyer is technical and the product is AI safety infrastructure.
  • How you measure event ROI beyond badge scans, including pipeline stages, CAC, and influenced revenue.
  • How you would design White Circle's flagship event from scratch: audience, format, budget, location, and promotion.
  • How you work with sales to convert event contacts into qualified pipeline and closed revenue.
  • How you run events globally as a remote-first team with a small budget and no existing playbook.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Talking only about event logistics or brand awareness without connecting events to qualified pipeline and revenue.
  • Proposing a large flagship event without a budget, audience, or measurable success criteria.
  • Applying with generic event experience that does not address AI safety, technical buyers, or a small remote team with no existing events function.
