Mission
What you will drive
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct bat presence/absence surveys using methods like mist-netting and acoustic monitoring, identify bat species in field and lab, and perform roost surveys and habitat assessments.
- Advise clients on bat conservation for site development, provide guidance on protected species regulations, and assist with permitting processes including Section 10 permits.
- Tabulate and analyze field data using computer software, prepare technical reports and agency documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations like the Endangered Species Act.
- Coordinate and manage bat-related projects including budgeting and scheduling, lead field teams and interns, and conduct public education workshops on bat conservation.

What makes you a great fit
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- B.S./B.A. degree in natural science field and minimum 5 years of experience in bat ecology, including field survey techniques and data analysis.
- Proficiency in field methods for bat surveys, acoustic monitoring equipment and software, and knowledge of federal/state bat conservation regulations.
- Strong technical writing skills for report preparation, expertise in data analysis and biological indices calculation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in challenging conditions, organizational skills to manage multiple projects, and excellent communication skills for client and team coordination.
