Federal Affairs FEMA Reform Intern

• Support the Federal Affairs team in advancing FEMA and NFIP reform policies in Congress.
• Research key members of Congress, committee activity, and existing legislation.
• Prepare fact sheets, backgrounders, member briefs, and other materials for Congressional outreach.
• Attend congressional hearings and events, providing detailed notes.

This internship contributes to EDF's mission to combat climate change by supporting federal advocacy for reforming FEMA and the National Flood Insurance Program, thereby enhancing flood resilience and reducing climate risks.

• Enrolled in or recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Demonstrated interest in public policy, climate change, environmental advocacy, or flood resilience.
• Coursework in political science, government, economics, or environmental science/studies.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; well-organized and detail-oriented.

Compensation: $18-$20/hour, depending on degree level. Part-time (10 hrs/week). U.S. Remote with option to be hybrid out of Washington, D.C. office.
