Executive Director

• Lead water protection campaigns and advocacy strategies, including opposing the Cedar City Pipeline and advocating for balanced water laws in Nevada.
• Oversee finances, grants, and supporter engagement, and lead fundraising efforts to sustain and grow the organization.
• Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization with funders, stakeholders, and the media, and engage with traditional and non-traditional media outlets.

This role protects sustainable water management in the Great Basin, partnering with communities to combat dangerous development, drought, and climate change, ensuring a well-informed public and ecological preservation.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum three years of professional-level experience in advocacy, government affairs, academia, or business.
• Fundraising or grant writing experience preferred; background in natural resources.
• Current driver’s license and access to reliable transportation; must be located in Reno, NV or Las Vegas, NV.

Salary $105,000 - $115,000 DOE. Up to 5% 403(b) retirement contribution. Up to $7,500 contribution to pre-tax Health Reimbursement Account. Work from home with extensive travel (up to one week per month, expenses reimbursed).

The Great Basin Water Network (GBWN) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect locally sustainable water uses, natural resources, and the public interest through communication, coordination, research, science, education, litigation, and advocacy in the extended Great Basin.
