Executive Director

• Lead water protection campaigns and advocacy strategies, including opposing the Cedar City Pipeline and advocating for balanced water laws.
• Oversee finances, grants, and supporter engagement, and lead fundraising efforts to sustain and grow the organization.
• Serve as the primary spokesperson, engaging with media, funders, stakeholders, and the public.
• Foster an inclusive, positive work culture and collaborate with the Board, partners, and tribal communities.

This role ensures sustainable water management in the Great Basin, protecting communities, ecosystems, and tribal water rights from harmful development and drought.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum three years of professional-level experience in advocacy, government affairs, academia, or business.
• Fundraising or grant writing experience preferred; background in natural resources.
• Current driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for travel to remote rural areas.

Salary: $105,000 - $115,000 DOE. Up to 5% 403(b) retirement contribution. Up to $7,500 contribution to pre-tax Health Reimbursement Account. Work from home with extensive travel (up to one week per month).

The Great Basin Water Network is a nonprofit that protects locally sustainable water uses and natural resources through communication, coordination, research, science, education, litigation, and advocacy in the extended Great Basin.
