Controller

• Oversee general accounting operations including General Ledger, AR/AP, Fixed Assets, Payroll, internal controls, and accounting policies.
• Manage monthly close activities, prepare financial statements, and coordinate with external auditors for annual audit and Form 990 preparation.
• Oversee grants and contracts accounting, ensuring compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), FAR, and award-specific requirements.

This role ensures financial integrity and transparency for an organization that provides publicly accessible methane and CO2 data to drive emission reductions and combat climate change.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including nonprofit, government-funded, or complex operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, audit preparation, and government contract accounting standards (Uniform Guidance, FAR).
• Proficiency with Sage Intacct and advanced Excel skills.
