How to apply for Enterprise Account Executive - EMEA
Elicit
About Elicit
Elicit is a public benefit company building an AI research assistant that helps researchers determine what is true and make better decisions. Its product is a scalable ML system that emphasizes systematicity and transparency, with supervision of process rather than outcomes. Hundreds of thousands of researchers in biomedicine, health economics, and computer science already use Elicit.
About the role
This Enterprise Account Executive - EMEA role owns the full sales cycle for complex enterprise deals in life sciences, biotech, and pharma across Europe. You will work directly with founders and the product team to define strategy, build playbooks, and close high-value deals. The position is remote and full-time.
A typical day
A typical day might include discovery calls with researchers and executives at European life sciences companies, internal strategy sessions with Elicit's founders and product team, and working on proposals or negotiations for active deals. You would also update playbooks based on what you learn from complex enterprise sales cycles.
Who Elicit is looking for
- Has closed enterprise software deals in EMEA, ideally in life sciences, biotech, or pharma.
- Can run consultative sales processes: mapping research workflows, uncovering pain points, and co-developing solutions with researchers, scientists, and executives.
- Can translate AI capabilities into technical value for non-technical and technical buyers.
- Is comfortable working remotely and collaborating closely with founders and product teams.
Tips for this application
- In your resume, quantify enterprise deals you have closed in EMEA, including deal sizes and sales cycle lengths.
- Name specific life sciences, biotech, or pharma companies you have sold to and the research workflows you supported.
- Explain how you have partnered with founders or product teams to build sales playbooks or shape strategy.
- Use your cover letter to describe a complex enterprise deal you managed end-to-end, from discovery to signature.
- If you have used Elicit or similar AI research tools, mention it and describe how you would sell it to a research-driven enterprise.
What to cover in your cover letter
['Your experience selling enterprise software into European life sciences, biotech, or pharma accounts.', 'A concrete example of running a consultative sales process that mapped complex research workflows and co-developed a solution.', 'How you translate AI capabilities into technical value for researchers, scientists, and executives.', "Why you want to help create a new category at the intersection of AI and science, and how you would work with Elicit's founders and product team."]
Draft a cover letterResearch before applying
- Read Elicit's public materials on how its AI research assistant works, including its focus on systematicity and transparency.
- Identify which European life sciences, biotech, and pharma companies are likely buyers and what research workflows they have.
- Learn about Elicit's public benefit company structure and how it might affect sales conversations with enterprise legal and procurement teams.
- Find examples of how Elicit is used in biomedicine, health economics, and computer science to speak credibly with researchers.
Likely interview topics
Based on the job description, expect questions about:
- How you would map a complex research workflow at a large pharma company and identify pain points Elicit can address.
- Your approach to selling an AI research assistant to researchers, scientists, and executives in the same account.
- A deal you closed in EMEA: what made it complex, how you navigated procurement and legal, and what the outcome was.
- How you would build an enterprise sales playbook for Elicit in Europe, given inbound interest from research-driven enterprises.
- How you would explain Elicit's supervision of process, not outcomes, to a technical buyer who cares about transparency and systematicity.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying with a generic enterprise sales resume that does not mention EMEA, life sciences, biotech, or pharma.
- Focusing only on closing deals without showing how you consult with researchers and scientists to co-develop solutions.
- Ignoring Elicit's product details and mission, which would make it hard to translate AI capabilities into technical value during interviews.
