How to Apply for Director of Project Insurance
at Oklo
🏢 About Oklo
Oklo is pioneering next-generation fast fission technology to provide clean, reliable, affordable energy while recycling nuclear waste. As a remote-first company with a mission to revolutionize the energy industry, Oklo offers a unique opportunity to shape the risk management framework for cutting-edge nuclear projects.
About This Role
As Director of Project Insurance, you will build and lead Oklo's insurance function from the ground up, managing complex insurance programs across Power, Fuel, and Isotope business units. This role is critical to enabling project development and financing by establishing risk frameworks and negotiating insurance coverage for large-scale nuclear energy projects.
💡 A Day in the Life
Your day might start with a call with an insurance broker to negotiate terms for a construction all-risk policy for a new Aurora site, followed by a meeting with the project finance team to review contractual indemnities. After lunch, you'd work on building a risk register with the engineering team, then present a quarterly insurance strategy update to the executive team.
