Director of Policy and Stakeholder Organizing

• Lead monitoring and analysis of federal and state legislative developments affecting higher education, particularly around sector autonomy, academic freedom, and fair opportunity.
• Develop and maintain a state-by-state legislative decision tree to categorize risk levels and policy opportunities.
• Design and produce actionable 'playbooks' for academic leaders and advocates based on state legislative environments.
• Implement a comprehensive strategy for stakeholder organizing, including building relationships, organizing work groups, and coordinating rapid response efforts.

This role ensures that academic leaders, advocates, and policy experts can respond collectively to threats against higher education, protecting academic freedom, fair opportunity, and sector autonomy for the benefit of students and society.

• Master's degree or higher in public policy, public administration, political science, education, sociology, or related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in policy analysis, government relations, higher education administration, or stakeholder organizing.
• Demonstrated experience with coalition building and managing complex multi-stakeholder networks.
• Deep understanding of federal and state legislative processes and higher education policy landscape.
