DIRECTOR OF DISASTER OPERATIONS

• Lead disaster assessment, response planning, and deployment implementation for natural disasters nationwide.
• Supervise operational staff, manage field operations, and ensure organizational readiness for future disasters.
• Build and maintain partnerships with FEMA, VOADs, emergency management agencies, and community organizations.

This role directly helps communities recover from natural disasters, providing comfort, hope, and practical assistance while demonstrating Jewish values of service and repair of the world.

• Minimum 9 years of experience in nonprofit, disaster response, emergency management, or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible leadership in disaster response or emergency management programs.
• Bachelor's degree required; relevant advanced degree preferred.
• Experience supervising teams, using hand/power tools, and working in remote environments with extensive travel.

Salary range: $90,000-$110,000 annually. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, workers' compensation, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), 401(k) retirement plan, 15 vacation days, 10 sick days, and most federal and Jewish holidays.
