Deputy General Counsel, Real Estate - Battery Storage

• Lead legal counsel and guidance to the Real Estate Team, supporting site acquisition, real estate de-risking, and project financings.
• Draft and negotiate option agreements, purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, and other real property agreements.
• Support complex title and survey issue resolution, site acquisition closings, and real estate matters for project financings and tax equity investments.
• Mentor and lead the Counsel, Real Estate, and manage external counsel.

This role directly supports the development of standalone energy storage projects that enable cleaner, more versatile electric grids, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and advancing climate solutions.

• J.D. required.
• At least 2-3 years of experience within a top-tier law firm in a commercial real estate practice group.
• At least 3-5 years of experience supporting real estate efforts for utility scale renewable energy-related development.
• Extensive experience drafting and negotiating real property agreements, title and survey review, and title insurance policies for energy projects.
