How to apply for Customer Success Representative
Semios
About Semios
Agworld is a collaborative agricultural information system used by over 10,000 growers, agronomists, ag retailers, and contractors across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. It manages over 200 million acres of cropping annually and is part of Semios Group, which focuses on data-driven pest and disease management to reduce pesticide dependency and crop losses. Working here means supporting software that helps agricultural professionals share data and cut out unnecessary emails, phone calls, and text messages.
About the role
As a customer success representative, you will be the main point of contact for Agworld users, helping them get the most out of the platform for crop plans, agronomic recommendations, budgets, spray records, and reports. You will troubleshoot issues, guide users through the software, and ensure they can digitally collaborate with their grower clients and other stakeholders. Your work directly supports growers and service providers in managing their operations more efficiently.
A typical day
A typical day might involve answering support tickets from growers and agronomists, walking users through creating crop plans or sharing data, and troubleshooting issues with the platform. You might also host a webinar or one-on-one training session to help a new ag retailer get started. You will collaborate with your remote team to track common problems and suggest improvements to the product.
Who Semios is looking for
- Experience in customer support or success, preferably in agriculture, ag tech, or SaaS.
- Familiarity with agricultural processes such as crop planning, agronomic recommendations, or spray records.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical software features to growers, agronomists, and retailers.
- Ability to work remotely and collaborate with a distributed team across multiple countries.
Tips for this application
- Highlight any experience you have with agricultural software or working directly with growers, agronomists, or ag retailers.
- Mention specific examples of how you have helped customers adopt new technology or solve problems remotely.
- Research Agworld's key features (crop plans, recommendations, budgets, spray records) and be ready to discuss how you would support users with them.
- Show that you understand the collaborative aspect of the platform—how it connects growers, agronomists, and other stakeholders.
- If you have used Agworld or similar tools, describe your hands-on experience and what you learned about user needs.
What to cover in your cover letter
In your cover letter, focus on your ability to support agricultural professionals in using digital tools. Emphasize any experience you have with crop planning, agronomic recommendations, or farm data management. Explain how you would help users reduce emails and phone calls by driving adoption of the platform. Mention your comfort with remote work and collaborating across time zones.
Draft a cover letterResearch before applying
- Explore Agworld's website to understand its core features: crop plans, agronomic recommendations, fertilizer scripts, budgets, spray records, and reports.
- Read about Semios Group and its focus on data-driven pest and disease management to see how Agworld fits into the larger company.
- Look for case studies or testimonials from growers, agronomists, or ag retailers who use Agworld to understand common pain points and successes.
- Check if Agworld has a help center or community forum to see the types of questions users ask and how support is provided.
Likely interview topics
Based on the job description, expect questions about:
- How would you handle a grower who is frustrated with the software and wants to go back to email and phone calls?
- Describe a time you helped a customer adopt a new technology or process. What was the outcome?
- What do you know about Agworld's role in reducing pesticide dependency and crop losses?
- How would you explain the benefits of digital collaboration to an agronomist who is skeptical?
- What steps would you take to onboard a new ag retailer onto the platform?
Common mistakes to avoid
- Avoid generic customer service language that does not mention agriculture or the specific challenges of growers and agronomists.
- Do not ignore the collaborative aspect of the platform—focusing only on individual user support misses the point of the software.
- Avoid claiming experience with agriculture if you do not have it; instead, show willingness to learn about crop planning and agronomic workflows.
