How to apply for Customer Success Representative
Semios
About Semios
Agworld, part of Semios Group, is a collaborative agricultural information system used by over 10,000 growers, agronomists, and ag retailers across five countries. It manages more than 200 million acres of cropping annually, replacing emails and phone calls with a shared digital platform for crop plans, recommendations, and spray records. Working here means supporting software that directly reduces pesticide dependency and crop losses.
About the role
As a customer success representative, you will be the main point of contact for growers, agronomists, and ag retailers using Agworld. You will help them adopt the platform, solve problems, and get full value from the data they collect and share. Your work directly supports the company's goal of reducing pesticide use and crop losses through better data management.
A typical day
You might start by checking new support tickets from growers or agronomists who need help with crop plans or spray records. Then you could join a call to walk a user through creating a fertilizer script or sharing data with their retailer. Later, you might update internal notes on common issues and follow up with a customer to confirm their problem is solved.
Who Semios is looking for
- Experience in customer support or success, ideally in agriculture, ag-tech, or SaaS.
- Comfortable explaining technical software features to non-technical users like growers and agronomists.
- Able to work remotely and manage your own schedule across Australian time zones.
- Familiar with crop planning, agronomic recommendations, or farm record-keeping is a plus.
Tips for this application
- In your application, mention any experience with agricultural software or farm data management. Agworld is used for crop plans, spray records, and budgets, so show you understand those workflows.
- Highlight remote work experience. This role is remote in Australia, so prove you can stay productive and communicate clearly without an office.
- Reference the scale of Agworld: 10,000+ users and 200 million acres. Show you grasp the size and complexity of the customer base you would support.
- Explain how you would help a grower or agronomist move from email and phone calls to the Agworld platform. Give a concrete example from your past work.
- Connect your work to Semios Group's goal of reducing pesticide dependency. Mention any experience in sustainable agriculture or data-driven pest management.
What to cover in your cover letter
Focus on your ability to support agricultural users with software. Emphasize any experience with crop planning, agronomic recommendations, or farm record-keeping. Show you understand the value of collaborative data sharing between growers, agronomists, and retailers. Mention your remote work skills and ability to handle customer issues across Australia.
Draft a cover letterResearch before applying
- Study Agworld's main features: crop plans, agronomic recommendations, fertilizer scripts, budgets, spray records, and reports. Understand how each is used by growers and agronomists.
- Learn about Semios Group and its focus on data-driven pest and disease management. Read how Agworld fits into the larger Semios product set.
- Look up common pain points for growers and agronomists in Australia, such as record-keeping, compliance, and collaboration with retailers.
- Check Agworld's user base: 10,000+ growers and 200 million acres across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Note any Australian-specific case studies or testimonials.
Likely interview topics
Based on the job description, expect questions about:
- How would you help a grower who is used to email and phone calls start using Agworld for crop plans and spray records?
- Describe a time you explained a technical software feature to a non-technical user. How did you ensure they understood?
- What do you know about the agricultural challenges Agworld solves, such as reducing pesticide dependency and crop losses?
- How would you manage customer support across different Australian time zones while working remotely?
- Give an example of how you turned a frustrated customer into a satisfied one in a previous support or success role.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying without showing any knowledge of agriculture or ag-tech. This role requires understanding the users' daily work with crop plans and spray records.
- Ignoring the remote aspect. Do not imply you need an office or constant supervision. Show you can work independently.
- Using generic customer service language. Avoid saying you are a 'people person' without giving examples of solving software problems for non-technical users.
