About the role

The Contracts Manager, Services develops and executes sourcing strategies for service contracts such as EPC, O&M, and engineering. You lead supplier selection, competitive sourcing events, negotiations, contract development, and supplier relationship management. You are the strategic owner of assigned categories and partner with business leaders to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.

A typical day

A typical day may include meeting with business leaders to align on a sourcing strategy for an EPC or O&M contract, running a competitive sourcing event, negotiating terms with a supplier, or reviewing contract language with legal. You might also manage ongoing supplier relationships to track performance against cost, quality, and risk objectives. The role is remote, so you would coordinate with colleagues across time zones.

Who Enlight Renewable Energy is looking for

  • Experience sourcing and negotiating service contracts in utility-scale solar, wind, or energy storage, specifically EPC, O&M, or engineering services.
  • Skilled at running competitive sourcing events and managing supplier relationships to meet cost, quality, risk, and performance targets.
  • Able to work cross-functionally with internal business leaders and external partners, reflecting the company's value of respectful collaboration.
  • Comfortable owning a category strategy end-to-end, from supplier selection through contract execution and ongoing management.

Tips for this application

  • Quantify your experience with service contracts in renewable energy. For example, state the number of EPC or O&M contracts you negotiated and their total value.
  • Name the specific contract types you have managed: EPC, O&M, engineering, or other services relevant to utility-scale solar and storage.
  • Mention any experience with competitive sourcing events and supplier selection processes, as these are core duties in the job description.
  • Reference Clēnera's project portfolio or pipeline numbers (1.9 GW solar, 5.1 GWh storage in operations or construction; 17.8 GW solar and 51.1 GWh storage pipeline) to show you understand the scale.
  • If you have worked with independent power producers or tier-one developers, state that directly. It aligns with Clēnera's position as a tier-one developer and IPP.

Likely interview topics

Based on the job description, expect questions about:

  • Walk through a time you developed a sourcing strategy for an EPC or O&M contract. What steps did you take and what was the result?
  • Describe a competitive sourcing event you managed. How did you select suppliers and what criteria did you use?
  • How do you manage supplier relationships to meet cost, quality, risk, and performance objectives?
  • Give an example of aligning a procurement strategy with business leaders who had different priorities. How did you handle it?
  • What do you know about Clēnera's project portfolio and pipeline, and how would your category ownership support that growth?
Practise interview questions

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Applying without showing any experience in utility-scale solar, wind, or energy storage service contracts. The role requires category-specific knowledge.
  • Focusing only on general procurement or purchasing without addressing the strategic ownership of categories and supplier relationship management.
  • Ignoring the cross-functional aspect. The job description states you will partner closely with business leaders, so failing to give examples of collaboration is a weakness.
