Contract Attorney Training and Online Legal Information Services

• Train and support law student volunteers providing online legal assistance through LiveHelp chat service.
• Develop and improve training materials and onboarding processes for volunteers.
• Monitor volunteer interactions for quality and provide feedback to ensure accurate, empathetic, and helpful service.
• Collaborate on creating plain language legal content for LawHelpNY website.

This role directly improves access to justice for underserved New Yorkers by ensuring law student volunteers provide accurate, empathetic legal information and by creating plain language resources that help people navigate the legal system.

• J.D. degree and membership in the New York State Bar.
• 5+ years legal experience with a passion for training and writing.
• Plain language writing skills and training skills.
• Bilingual Spanish proficiency.

Contract position averaging 17-20 hours per week with flexible schedule. Grant-funded through March 2027 with potential for extension. Opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven nonprofit with 25 years of impact.
