at PauseAI

🏢 About PauseAI

PauseAI is a grassroots movement dedicated to mitigating the risks of advanced AI by advocating for a global pause on its development. Working here means joining a passionate team of volunteers and organizers who are at the forefront of one of the most critical issues of our time, making it a unique opportunity to contribute to a cause with far-reaching implications.

About This Role

As a Community Organizer, you will be the backbone of PauseAI's volunteer network, empowering local leaders and coordinating events across the UK. Your work will directly enhance the effectiveness of PauseAI's campaigns, ensuring that the movement's message reaches policymakers and the public with clarity and impact.

💡 A Day in the Life

Your day might start by checking emails and Slack messages from local group leaders, offering guidance or resources. You could then draft a newsletter update for volunteers or plan logistics for an upcoming event, such as a lobbying day. In the afternoon, you might host a video call to onboard a new volunteer or lead a training session on organizing tactics.
