Job Posting Independent Contractor | Approximately 20 hours/week | $25/hour | 10-month engagement | Compensation not to exceed $24,000 About the Role NAMI Illinois is seeking a Community Network Program Coordinator to provide administrative, communications, and data support for our Community Network Anchor (CNA) grant, a regional initiative funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) to convene and connect communities across nine counties: Lake, McHenry, Kane, DuPage, Cook, Kendall, Will, Grundy, and Kankakee. The Community Network Program Coordinator will manage the behind-the-scenes infrastructure that keeps the program running between community listening sessions, working closely with the Primary NAMI Illinois Contact to support timely coordination and implementation. This is a support-focused role rather than a facilitation or public-facing position, helping to ensure that materials, data, communications, and reports are organized, accurate, and completed on time so the broader team can stay focused on community engagement. Responsibilities Awareness & Communications Build and maintain a standardized awareness toolkit (social posts, press releases, promotional materials) Draft social media content and press releases for major program milestones Draft a terminology one-pager and support development of the program's strategic plan Regional Advisory Committee & Affiliate Coordination Track committee applications and monitor geographic representation Support outreach and application review for community partner organizations Maintain an internal FAQ to support consistent partner engagement Registry & Data Management Launch and maintain a living regional community network registry Document new cross-organizational connections and follow up on progress Build a standardized data entry process and train partner organizations on its use Process survey and sign-in data within 5 business days of each session Reporting Support Draft quarterly data report packages for review and submission to the state Draft post-session recap communications Support year-end impact reporting Requirements Required 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit program coordination, grant administration, communications, or a related field Strong written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, professional content efficiently Comfort with data entry, spreadsheets, and basic tracking or reporting tools Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines independently Ability to receive feedback and make timely revisions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Strongly Preferred Experience in community engagement, behavioral health, or mental health advocacy spaces Some familiarity with grant reporting cycles or funder relationships Bilingual (Spanish) Basic design skills (Canva-level) for toolkit materials Familiarity with rural or multi-county service regions Logistics Hours : 20 hours/week, flexible scheduling with availability for occasional evening or weekend hours around listening sessions Location : Remote, with occasional travel within the Westchester Health Region Reports to : Primary NAMI Illinois Contact Term : October 1, 2026 – July 31, 2027 How to Apply Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter to [email protected] .
