Call for expressions of interest - Policy-paper on community-based approaches to safeguarding living heritage and sustainable development frameworks

• Develop a policy paper on community-based approaches to safeguarding living heritage and their contribution to sustainable development frameworks in Africa.
• Review existing policies, legal measures, and regional frameworks for living heritage safeguarding in Africa.
• Identify and analyze good practices of community participation in policy design and safeguarding initiatives.
• Conduct stakeholder consultations and write stories for an online platform sharing good safeguarding experiences.

This role contributes to integrating intangible cultural heritage into sustainable development frameworks in Africa, empowering communities and preserving cultural diversity while fostering inclusive social and economic development.

• Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in heritage studies, anthropology, sociology, cultural policy, or sustainable development.
• Proven track record in drafting policy papers, analytical reports, or advocacy documents.
• Experience in designing and conducting stakeholder consultations, including with community-based organizations.
• Excellent drafting and analytical skills in English and French.
