How to apply for Business Development Manager Nordics (EV Charging)
AMPECO
About AMPECO
AMPECO provides a SaaS platform that companies use to manage EV charging infrastructure, processes, and energy use. It raised a $16M Series A in January 2023 and a $26M Series B in November 2024. The platform is used by companies across North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
About the role
This role leads AMPECO's sales and business development strategy in the Nordics. You work with the VP of Sales and Business Development Europe to define and execute short- and long-term plans. The location is Norway, and the focus is selling a business-critical SaaS platform to EV charging operators and related companies.
A typical day
You spend time researching Nordic EV charging operators and reaching out to potential customers. You meet with the VP of Sales and Business Development Europe to review pipeline and adjust the regional strategy. You may also join product demos or work with the team to tailor proposals for enterprise accounts.
Who AMPECO is looking for
- Has B2B SaaS sales or business development experience, ideally selling to EV charging, energy, or mobility companies.
- Knows the Nordic market: understands local charging operators, regulations, and buying behavior in Norway and nearby countries.
- Can build and run a regional sales strategy, including pipeline generation, partner development, and closing deals.
- Is comfortable working remotely across time zones with a European sales team and a Bulgaria-based product company.
Tips for this application
- Name specific Nordic EV charging companies or market segments you have sold to or worked with, such as charge point operators, fleet operators, or utilities.
- Reference AMPECO's Series A and Series B funding and explain how you would use that momentum to win enterprise accounts in the Nordics.
- Show you understand the AMPECO EV Charging Platform is a SaaS product used to manage charging infrastructure, not a hardware product.
- Quantify your sales results in previous roles: deal sizes, quota attainment, number of new logos, or revenue growth in the Nordic region.
- Address the Norway location directly and confirm your ability to work across the Nordic region and with a remote European team.
What to cover in your cover letter
Your specific experience selling B2B SaaS in the Nordics, especially to EV charging, energy, or mobility companies. Your ability to build a regional sales strategy from the ground up with a VP of Sales. Concrete examples of deals you closed or partnerships you built in Norway or the wider Nordics. Why AMPECO's platform and recent funding make this the right time to join.
Draft a cover letterResearch before applying
- Read AMPECO's Series A and Series B announcements to understand growth plans and target markets.
- Study the AMPECO EV Charging Platform features, such as charging infrastructure management, energy use, and processes.
- Identify the main EV charging operators, fleet companies, and energy firms in Norway and the Nordics that could use AMPECO.
- Check if AMPECO has existing customers or partners in the Nordics and how you would expand that footprint.
Likely interview topics
Based on the job description, expect questions about:
- How would you build a Nordic sales strategy for a SaaS platform that manages EV charging infrastructure?
- Which Nordic customer segments would you target first and why: charge point operators, fleets, utilities, or municipalities?
- Describe a complex B2B SaaS deal you closed in the Nordics and how you navigated the buying process.
- How do you work with a VP of Sales and a remote product team to turn customer feedback into sales materials?
- What do you know about AMPECO's platform and how it compares to other EV charging management software?
Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying without any knowledge of the EV charging market or the difference between hardware and software in this space.
- Writing a generic cover letter that does not mention the Nordics, Norway, or AMPECO's specific platform.
- Focusing only on your past sales numbers without explaining how you would apply that experience to AMPECO's regional strategy.
