Mission
What you will drive
- Develop subject-matter expertise on how AI and tech platforms impact local news providers, including uncompensated usage and competition.
- Identify public policy options and tradeoffs for mitigating AI's negative impacts on local news, especially at the state level.
- Track relevant federal and state policies related to data centers, intellectual property, antitrust, zoning, and tech taxation.
- Coordinate with the Director of Policy to identify jurisdictions for policy introduction, educate stakeholders, and contribute to resources like model bills and explainers.

Profile
What makes you a great fit
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in tech policy analysis or policy creation; training in public policy, economics, or law is a strong plus.
- Experience analyzing legislation or working with state legislatures to pass policy.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate issues into policy proposals and model bill language.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment and willing to travel as necessary.
