Project Background

Lebanon's governance environment is heavily impacted by systemic crises and erosion of the national integrity system. This project aims to strengthen the organizational capacity of six Lebanese media and civil society organizations (CSOs) to evaluate public data sources, apply advanced analytical workflows, and execute evidence-based accountability work.

The project integrates cutting-edge technology, AI-assisted research routines, and automated data monitoring workflows to enhance the analytical capacity of independent media and CSOs scrutinizing public procurement, registries, and financial data in Lebanon.

  • Duration: 12 months
  • Level of Effort: 10 days per month (Total: 120 working days)

Role Objective

The AI Lead establishes and oversees the AI methodology, technical architecture, and workflow standards across all technical activities, ensuring practical, safe, and sustainable integration of AI tools for newsrooms and civic watchdogs.

  • Sustained Technical Mentorship Supervision: Provide expert advice to mentors and cohort teams on Arabic NLP, LLM inference, API integration, data privacy, source protection, and operational sustainability.

Key Deliverables

  1. AI & Workflow Feasibility Chapter for the Ecosystem Assessment.
  2. Curriculum materials and practical exercises for the AI workflow training modules.
  3. Hackathon technical architecture guidelines and prototype evaluation standards.
  4. Bi-monthly technical review notes evaluating cohort tool stability, API security, and workflow code documentation.
