Adoptions Senior Staff Attorney

• Provide legal representation and advocacy for prospective adoptive parents in foster care adoption matters.
• Draft legal forms and court petitions, and appear as counsel at adoption finalization hearings.
• Develop and manage pro bono legal support, train and supervise pro bono attorneys and interns.
• Support policy advocacy and reform efforts around foster care adoption.

This role ensures that children in foster care find permanent, loving homes through successful adoptions, and advocates for systemic improvements in child welfare policies, directly impacting the stability and wellbeing of vulnerable youth.

• JD degree and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• 5-7 years of relevant legal experience, including litigation and case management.
• Experience in child welfare, family law, probate guardianship, or immigration courts.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organizational skills, and ability to manage high-volume caseload.
• Spanish fluency strongly preferred.

Full-time exempt position with a target starting salary range of $92,000-$104,000, contingent on experience. The role offers the opportunity to work remotely to some extent, with in-person court appearances and meetings required.
