What you will drive

We are a 501(c)(3), New York-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting and empowering girls and women. We are seeking a versatile, experienced freelance professional (initially on a project basis) to help launch our fundraising infrastructure and drive our early-stage growth. This role combines strategic research, grant writing, and light project management. Key Responsibilities Funding Prospecting: Identify and vet foundation, corporate, and government funding sources aligned with our mission. Donor List Building: Create and organize a targeted mailing and prospective donor list. Grant Pipeline Management: Identify specific grant opportunities and maintain an organized submission calendar. Grant Writing: Craft compelling letters of intent (LOIs), case statements, and complete grant applications. Strategic Support: Assist in developing our overarching fundraising strategy and managing early organizational partnerships. Requirements/Qualifications Proven track record of securing grants for nonprofit organizations (experience with women/girls initiatives is a major plus). Strong database research skills using tools like Candid/Foundation Directory, Instrumentl, or GrantStation. Exceptional written communication and storytelling abilities. Highly organized project manager who can work independently and meet strict deadlines. Experience helping early-stage 501(c)(3) organizations navigate initial fundraising is preferred.
