How to Apply for Account Manager – APAC

at Satellogic

🏢 About Satellogic

Satellogic is a vertically integrated Earth observation company that designs, builds, launches, and operates its own satellite constellation, delivering decision-grade geospatial insights at scale. Unlike many competitors, Satellogic offers flexible pathways from managed monitoring to full satellite ownership, enabling sovereign control for governments and commercial customers. Working here means being at the forefront of continuous, alert-driven climate and security monitoring, with a global team distributed across five countries.

About This Role

As an Account Manager for APAC, you will own and grow relationships with government and commercial customers across the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring they derive maximum value from Satellogic's Earth observation data and analytics. You will act as the primary point of contact, driving adoption, renewals, and upsells while collaborating with technical teams to tailor solutions for climate monitoring, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and defense use cases. This role is critical for expanding Satellogic's footprint in a strategically important region.

💡 A Day in the Life

You might start your day with a call with a government client in Japan to discuss renewal terms, then collaborate with Satellogic's product team to address a technical requirement for an agriculture customer in Australia. In the afternoon, you could analyze usage data to identify upsell opportunities for a commercial account in Singapore, and end with a strategy session with the APAC sales lead to refine your territory plan. Expect frequent virtual interactions across time zones and a mix of strategic and hands-on account work.

🎯 Who Satellogic Is Looking For

  • 5+ years of account management or sales experience in geospatial, aerospace, defense, or climate-tech industries, with a proven track record of managing complex, high-value accounts in APAC.
  • Strong understanding of Earth observation data, remote sensing, or satellite imagery applications, and ability to translate technical capabilities into business value for diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate government procurement processes and commercial contracts in APAC countries, with cultural fluency and existing networks in the region.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience coordinating cross-functional teams (product, engineering, customer success) to deliver customer outcomes.

📝 Tips for Applying to Satellogic

1

Highlight any direct experience with Earth observation, satellite imagery, or geospatial analytics in your resume and cover letter—Satellogic values domain knowledge highly.

2

Quantify your APAC account management achievements: specify revenue growth, retention rates, or contract values for accounts in countries like Japan, Australia, Singapore, or India.

3

Demonstrate familiarity with Satellogic's product suite by referencing their constellation, analytics platform, or specific use cases (e.g., climate monitoring, defense) in your application.

4

Emphasize your ability to work remotely and across time zones, as Satellogic's team is distributed across five countries and this role is remote within APAC.

5

If you have existing relationships with government agencies or commercial entities in APAC that could benefit from Satellogic's solutions, mention them tactfully in your cover letter.

✉️ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

['Your specific experience managing accounts in APAC, including the types of customers (government/commercial) and the geospatial or technical products you supported.', 'How you have successfully grown revenue or expanded adoption of complex technical solutions, ideally in Earth observation or a related field.', "Your understanding of Satellogic's unique value proposition—vertically integrated, flexible pathways from monitoring to ownership—and how you would communicate that to customers.", 'Your ability to collaborate with technical teams and translate customer needs into product requirements, ensuring long-term customer success.']

🔍 Research Before Applying

To stand out, make sure you've researched:

  • → Study Satellogic's satellite constellation: number of satellites, revisit rates, resolution, and how their vertical integration differentiates them from competitors like Planet or Maxar.
  • → Research Satellogic's recent customer wins or partnerships in APAC, particularly in climate monitoring, agriculture, or defense, to understand their market traction.
  • → Understand the competitive landscape in Earth observation, including key players in APAC and how Satellogic's pricing, flexibility, and sovereign control options compare.
  • → Familiarize yourself with APAC government space policies and commercial remote sensing regulations, as these will impact sales cycles and customer requirements.

💬 Prepare for These Interview Topics

Based on this role, you may be asked about:

1 How would you approach building a pipeline of government and commercial accounts in APAC for Satellogic's Earth observation solutions?
2 Describe a time you turned around a challenging account or renewed a contract that was at risk. What was your strategy?
3 What do you see as the biggest opportunities for Earth observation in APAC, and how would you position Satellogic against competitors?
4 How would you explain the difference between one-off imagery and continuous monitoring to a potential customer, and why does it matter?
5 Given Satellogic's remote-first culture, how do you stay motivated and effective when working independently across time zones?

⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Avoid generic sales language that doesn't demonstrate an understanding of geospatial data or satellite imagery—Satellogic needs someone who can speak credibly to technical buyers.
  • Don't overlook the importance of cultural nuance in APAC; showing a one-size-fits-all approach to the region will raise concerns about your ability to build trust.
  • Avoid focusing solely on new business acquisition; this role requires a balance of account management, retention, and growth, so emphasize your customer success mindset.
